George Baran

Baran was hit in the head with a wooden bullet. They were made of a very hard wood that splintered easily. The red, green, and black dyes caused serious infections that needed a lot of care.

George Baran was hit in the right temple above the eye, when the bullet broke the splinters stuck all over his head.

George Baran was captured after being wounded, he was sent to a German hospital near Cherbourg.
